UNHCR: Two women and a child were wounded and the shelters of 3,000 displaced people were affected by the floods in Aden

On Saturday, the High Commissioner for Refugees announced that two women and a three-month-old child had been injured and that the shelter and property of three thousand Yemeni displaced persons in Aden had been damaged by floods in the past days.

"UNHCR, in coordination with its partners, is conducting rapid humanitarian assessments in Aden for IDPs affected by torrential rains and flash floods this week," the UNHCR said in a brief statement.

She added, "Initial reports indicate that approximately 3,000 Yemeni displaced people have been severely affected."

 The statement indicated that those damages affected the shelter of the displaced and their household belongings, including mattresses, food rations and personal belongings as a result of these floods.

 The statement pointed out that two women and a three-month-old child were injured and were referred to hospital.

In conclusion, UNHCR stressed that it is working with partners to provide more humanitarian support to the displaced and affected people.
