Hodeidah, Newsyemen:

Local sources reported that the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, is holding hundreds of fishermen in the Salif District, north of Al Hodeidah Governorate, under the pretext of quarantine and the application of precautionary measures against the Corona pandemic.

Journalist Mujahid al-Qab, on his Facebook page, said that the militia detained several fishermen in the village marina of the Salif District, north of Hodeidah under the pretext of quarantine, and prevented them from getting out of their boats and returning to their villages.

He pointed out that the militia detained other fishermen in the Digno area, north of the port of Al-Salif, and prevented them from going out to work at sea.

The fishermen issued a distress call after they were prevented by the militia from returning to their homes and not being allowed to bring their food needs.

In the district of Hays, south of Al-Hodeidah, the Houthi militia is holding, for the third consecutive day, dozens of families from the districts of the coast at a checkpoint in the area of   Dhemi, south of the Directorate.

Local sources said that the families are facing a very difficult situation after the militia prevented them from crossing and left them in the open without shelter.
