Mocha, Newsyemen, private:

On Tuesday, the Health and Population Office at Mocha Directorate, in cooperation with the FHI, re-operated the Al-Shadhliya Health Center in the Al-Mukhawi countryside, after it had been closed for nine years.

The residents welcomed the reopening of the center in this remote area with joy, where about five thousand people will benefit from its services.

The district leader of the village of Al-Shadhliya Salim El-Mouradi extended his deep thanks to Dr. Samiha for restarting the health centers in the remote areas of Mocha, and said that she demonstrated the ability of women to lead and achieve success as well.

El Mouradi said that the people of the countryside of Mocha were denied a great access to a health center, and that people who are surprised by the disease at midnight bear the pain until the next morning, due to the difficulty of moving to the nearest medical center.

He added that, in light of the presence of a number of organizations working in the medical field in Mocha, the rural people were still deprived of this.

The health center in the village of Al-Shadhliya was closed in 2011 and residents were deprived of its health services over the past years, until the director of the Health Office in Mocha Samiha Jamil re-opened it.

Newsyemen had conveyed the residents' repeated appeals and demands on more than one occasion to restart the health center in Shadhliya in Mocha.
