Taiz, Newsyemen:

A security official in the governorate of Taiz has suspended a project funded by the State of Kuwait for the benefit of the people of the Jabal Habashi Directorate, whose cost exceeds one billion riyals, and it consists of a hospital, a health institute, an artificial limb center, and housing

Sources in the local council in the directorate said that the director of the Directorate’s security, Tawfiq Al-Waqar, prevented the company implementing the project from starting work after identifying the land, which is owned by the Endowments, with the exception of 10% of them belonging to citizens, one of them is the director of the Directorate's Security.

Al-Waqar refuses to enable the company to operate on the pretext that the land belongs to him, although he granted the Ministry of Interior a large area to build the headquarters of the security department he controls after he imposed himself as director of security 4 years ago.

The director of the Jabal Habashi District, Faris al-Maliki, said that great efforts have been made in following up this giant project, which consists of a hospital, a health institute, an artificial limb center, and housing, and that he now needs a serious stand by all the people of the Directorate, especially the civil, military and community leaders.

He added that the issue was presented to the Governor of the Governorate, Nabil Shamsan, and a committee was formed headed by the director of the Community Participation Department in the Directorate Sadiq al-Amiri, Abdulrahman al-Amiri, Sheikh Abdulhakim Hamid and Sheikh Muhammad Sultan Ali, but they did not reach a result until now.

Al-Maliki called on all members of the directorate to join hands and unify the ranks in order to make the project a success and thwart any efforts to try to block it.
