Shabwa, Newsyemen:

The governorate of Shabwa Governorate appointed Muhammed Saleh bin Adiyu today, on Monday, who is a member of brotherhood commander to lead the Coast Guard forces in the same governorate, to succeed Major Muhammad Hussein al-Mahrouq al-Awlaqi.

The new appointee, Nayef Muhammad Al-Qumaishi, lacks a scientific certificate that qualifies him to lead the Coast Guard, as he is a graduate of Al-Iman University in Sanaa and a hard-line militant of the Islah Party (branch of the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen).

The decision sparked widespread discontent among the members of the Coast Guard forces in Shabwa, because of the brilliant biography of Muhammad Hussein al-Mahrouqi, that qualified him to lead the Coast Guard forces.

Al-Awlaqi is considered one of the bases of the security establishment, as he received his first mission in 2006-08 in leading the group of boats to protect the ports of the Gulf of Aden, then he worked as a leader for the marine formation of the Gulf of Aden.

He also holds scientific qualifications in computer science, master’s degree in military science, ship leadership and scientific programs in the same specialty provided by the US Navy, Japanese, Italian and British.
