Abyan, Newsyemen, Abdullah Al-Bahri:

On Wednesday, militias of the Islah Party (the branch of the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen) sent large military reinforcements to the coastal city of Shuqra in an attempt to thwart calm efforts.

Military sources said that the size of the forces reached 40 military crews and other military equipment that headed towards Shuqra, Abyan.

It added, "Brotherhood militias aim to thwart calm efforts in the Shuqra region, reduce tension in the southern provinces and unite efforts against the Houthi coup militias."

According to the sources, southern military leaders had succeeded in reaching a truce agreement in the coastal city of Shuqra, Abyan Governorate, in its meeting with officers from the transitional side and others from the legitimacy.

It explained that the Muslim Brotherhood militia completely violated the truce and sent new forces from Marib towards the city of Shuqra to reinforce the forces of Bin Ma’ili in Abyan Governorate.

Meanwhile, Brotherhood militias affiliated with the Islamic movement continue their actions in violation of the Riyadh agreement.

Sources and eyewitnesses told Newsyemen that Brotherhood militia members were stationed in the "Qarn Classi" area, west of the coastal area of   Shuqra, while the southern forces were stationed in Sheikh Salem, east of Zanjubar City, since the terms of the Riyadh agreement were signed last November, as well as the last calm agreement.

A military convoy and senior leaders had arrived in the city of Shuqra, most notably Major General Thabet Jawas, Commander of the Fourth District, Major General Fadl Hassan, Governor of Abyan, Major General Abu Bakr Hussein Salem, and many dignitaries. They were received by Abu Mishaal Al-Kazmi, Director of Abyan Security, and ways were discussed to spare the fighting, which only serves the primary enemy of legitimacy and transitional, and an agreement was concluded to jointly manage the security file in Abyan Governorate, and the agreement was under the supervision of Saudi officers and in the presence of leaders of the Army and the Southern Transitional.

The two parties agreed that government forces would enter the city of Zanzibar to take over the security file, equally with the forces of the Southern Transitional Security Belt.  This agreement, according to the sources, is part of the Arab coalition's efforts to implement the Riyadh agreement and to stop escalation actions and tensions in the region.
