Aden, Newsyemen :

Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, President of the National Assembly and member of the Presidency Council of the Southern Transitional Council, called, on Thursday, for cohesion and solidarity to repel aggression and defend the south.

In a televised speech, on the recent developments, military tensions in Abyan and the mobilization from Marib to Shuqra, Ibn Brik asserted that the commitment to the pursuit of peace is matched by the adherence to the right to defend rights and reject any violations.

He said: We have been and will be advocates of peace, and for that we have gone and will go to the far end of the earth in search of achieving peace that brings peace and stability to our people and allows for the launch of the wheel of construction and development.

He added: On the other hand, we sought peace. We are committed to defending the right of our people to freedom and dignity. We will not accept any transgressions that detract from the dignity of our people or extend to the sacrifices of our heroic martyrs.

Ibn Brik said: Our convictions were and still are, and our stances are steady that does not change that the South is strong with all its people, and that its rise and prosperity depends on the unity of all its spectra and components, and we affirm that our hands are extended to all the honorable and loyal people of our people who are still in the Yemeni components and parties as well as in what is called legitimacy.  He said that their natural place is to join their people, and their real place here in building their southern homeland.
