Military mediation defuses tension between legitimate government and southern transitional council in Abyan

The spokesperson for the truce mediation between Legitimate government and the Southern Transitional Council, Ali Mansour Muqrat, announced on Sunday that the military mediation succeeded in defuses tensions in Abyan Governorate, south of Yemen.

"The efforts of the military mediators, headed by Major General Thabet Jawas, led to the halting of the military escalation between the two sides after the situation was about to explode," Muqrat said after the arrival of the representatives of legitimate government to the headquarters of the Arab coalition forces in Aden.

 He stated that the Coordination Committee for Mediation moved to Shuqra and met the leadership of the Sharia forces in Qarn Maklassi. Later, the commander of the fourth military region, Major General Fadl Hassan, the mediation chief, Major General Thabet Jawas, Brigadier Ali Muhammad al-Koud, Brigadier Ali Mansour Ahmed, and the head of coalition operations, Colonel Abu Mishaal.

He added that Brigadier General Sanad Abdullah Al-Rahwa, Commander of the 1st Brigade, Presidential Protection, and Brigadier General Ali Muhammad Al-Qamali, Commander of the 103rd Infantry Brigade, and Brigadier Saif Ali Muhammad Al-Qafish, Commander of the 115th Infantry Brigade, were taken to the headquarters of the coalition in Aden.

 He explained that a meeting was held chaired by the commander of the Arab coalition forces and in the presence of the representatives of legitimacy and the Southern Transitional

“Muqrat” stated that the legitimate military leaders returned Sunday evening to Shuqra, and that the meetings continue to be signed by the two parties to implement the annex to the Riyadh agreement.

 A spokesman for the mediation committee confirmed that it will continue its tasks to ensure radical solutions leading to the launch of the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement signed on the 5th of November last year and to prevent the explosion of the situation militarily.
