Griffiths: Transitional Council participation in consultations for a final political solution under the Riyadh Agreement

On Monday, UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths called for speedy implementation of the Riyadh agreement with the support of the coalition led by Saudi Arabia.
He said that the success of this agreement should bring benefits to the people of the south, especially with regard to improving public services and security.
He added: "Now, more than ever, all political actors must cooperate in good faith and refrain from taking escalatory measures and placing the interests of Yemenis in the first place."
Griffiths added that the Riyadh Agreement provides for the participation of the Southern Transitional Council in the consultations on the final political solution to ending the conflict in Yemen and serving the interests of Yemenis throughout the country.
