The Houthi militia continued to escalate the populated areas of Hays, south of Al Hodeidah, and the shelling with machine guns on Monday evening, residential neighborhoods and public markets in the city.
Local sources indicated that the Houthi militia opened machine-gun fire towards residential neighborhoods in the quarter of Hadrami, the city center.
The sources confirmed that the shelling targeted large residential gatherings in Al-Hadrami neighborhood, while some houses and the public market were fired upon, and also targeted the Great Mosque in the city center.
The sources pointed out that the Houthi shelling with automatic weapons caused a state of panic and fear among the citizens as a result of the targeting of their homes and the markets and places of worship.
