Aden, Newsyemen:

A leader in al-Qaeda in Yemen admitted that the organization had participated in the fighting alongside legitimate forces in the eastern Ma'rib governorate.

The leader said, in a video recorded by the organization, that al-Qaeda members arrived in Marib and stayed in the shelter (Abu Jahm) in the Rawda neighborhood, and (Abu Fawaz al-Marbi), the military commander of the organization, arrived in Marib.

He added: "Abu Fawaz al-Maribi told us that he would go to Serwah, so I told Abu Jahm that I would go with them thinking that there was a front for the organization in Serwah."

The leader continued: "We went on the Serwah line with the car of Abu Fawaz al-Maribi (an armored man as he said) and was surprised when we got to the first point of legitimacy and they stopped us and Abu Fawaz al-Maribi knew them himself and they gave him a salute."

He stated that the organization members had gone through with the military leader of al-Qaeda in Marib, with several points of legitimacy, and at every point that the soldiers stopped them, then Abu Fawaz al-Ma’ribi would introduce himself to them, so they would greet him and let him pass until they reached a camp in Serwah.

He said, "Abu Fawaz al-Maribi arrived at a petrol station and contacted a military commander in the Legitimacy Army and told him that he needed to fill up his car's tank with gasoline (free supply), which was done.

The leader indicated that the military commander of the organization, Abu Fawaz al-Ma’ribi, had arrived in a camp for legitimacy in Serwah and had met with military leaders.

In the video recording, the leader said that he asked an al-Qaeda operative in Serwah about the organization’s front, and he replied that there was no special front. What is happening is that the military legitimacy leaders in Serwah are calling on the elements of the organization to help them respond when their positions are attacked.
