A military source said, at the Ministry of Defense, that Brigadier General Mohamed Saleh Al-Aqili, Commander of the 153rd Brigade, who was killed today Saturday in Abyan Governorate, withdrew his forces from their areas of concentration in Al-Bayda Governorate, according to a party decision.

The source pointed out that Brigadier Al-Aqili withdrew with the brigade he was commanding from the White Front, and moved to Shakra, Abyan, under partisan directions, without the knowledge of the Ministry of Defense operations room.

He added that the withdrawal of Brigade 153 from Al-Bayda to Abyan was done without the knowledge of the Ministry of Defense and the Chief of Staff.

The move was considered an additional indication of the control of the Islah party, the local branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, over the decision of the legal forces.

In another context, another military source told "NewsYemen" that the 153rd Brigade fell in full equipment in the hands of the southern forces, during the confrontations in the Shakra area

He stated that many members of the brigade were killed and wounded, while dozens of elements fell captive to the southern forces, as the latter seized various weapons from the brigade's arsenal.
