770 tons of UAE aid to Hadramaut residents during Ramadan

The Uae Red Crescent Authority provided 770 tons and 400 kilos of food to residents of Hadramaut province as part of the relief assistance program during Ramadan, which helped alleviate the suffering of poor and affected families from the precautionary measures imposed by local authorities to cope with the new coronavirus epidemic.


The UAE Red Crescent Has intensified its relief and humanitarian efforts to help the people of Hadramaut to normalize the humanitarian situation as part of a humanitarian intervention plan to relieve affected families directly affected by the disruption of work and curfews in the country to reduce the spread of the Corona pandemic.


18,000 food baskets


During Ramadan, the UAE Red Crescent conducted 18,000 food baskets weighing 770 tons and 400 kilograms, benefiting some 90,000 members of the targeted families, distributed among various directorates in Hadramaut governorate, where this relief assistance was a positive element for thousands of families.


Meeting needs


Hamid Rashid al-Shamsi, representative of the Uae Red Crescent In Hadramaut, said the campaign is part of the humanitarian projects provided by the UNITED Arab Emirates to stand with families in need in Hadramaut governorate, especially with the repercussions of the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.


Al-Shamsi stressed the authority's keenness to continue implementing these humanitarian projects continuously to reach all Yemeni citizens in need of them under the circumstances in which the country is going through, pointing out the importance of joining efforts to deliver food to its beneficiaries.


For his part, Eng. Amin Saeed Omar Barziq, Deputy Governor of Hadramaut For Technical Affairs, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the UAE for these humanitarian efforts in Hadramaut province. 


He pointed out that the UAE Red Crescent has proven its efficiency and ability to distribute relief in the most difficult circumstances by providing an integrated crew working on the ground not only in Hadramaut but at the level of Yemen in general.


It is worth mentioning that the number of food baskets distributed by the UAE Red Crescent since the beginning of 2020 amounted to « 25,410 » food baskets weighing « 1369 tons and 128 kilograms » benefited « 127,050 » members of the families in need and affected in hadramaut province.
