The deputy head of the presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Hani Ben Brik, described the assassination attempt on Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Saghir bin Aziz by targeting his convoy with houthi rocket fire in Marib "a message of death to anyone who refuses to mobilize towards the south."

The senior southern leader noted Ibn Aziz's determination to liberate Sanaa.

The Chief of Staff, with injuries, escaped rocket attacks at The Jinn Camp in Marib, and his son, nephew and a number of his companions were martyred.

Hani Ben Brik commented on Twitter: "Targeting the convoy of Ibn Aziz al-Masri to liberate Sana'a in a camp in Marib after his meeting with Defense Minister Mohamed Ali al-Meqrashi, and the death of his son, nephew and a number of his companions, is not the first attempt to liquidate Ben Aziz."

He added that "Tarek Afash was handed over from treachery, because his back was the southerners, and if his strength in Marib was destroyed by the brothers, the house of treachery."

In another comment, Ibn Brik said: "The message of death to anyone who refuses to mobilize towards the south, and the Houthi missiles are the reason for the accuracy of 100% Ibn Aziz, the Houthi like a false lover rejoices in the charges."
