The spokesman for the southern forces in Abyan, Mohammed al-Naqib, said that Brotherhood militias are preparing for a major attack in Shaqra, stressing that the southern forces are on standby.
In a blog post on his Twitter account, al-Naqib confirmed the brotherhood's recruitment of military reinforcements from Hadramaut and Marib provinces to Abyan.
"Despite the relative calm that is interspersed with sporadic clashes from time to time in the Abyan front this Thursday, the arrival of new reinforcements of Brotherhood militias from Marib province and Hadramaut Valley indicates that the same Brotherhood militias are preparing for a new attack that they know will lose and will be destroyed," he said.
The southern forces are on high alert and ready to face any new aggression, he said.
On Wednesday, armed clashes between southern forces and Brotherhood militias resumed in the Qarn al-Kalasi area near the coastal city of Shaqra in abyan province in southern Yemen.
