The "I am a Doctor I Can" initiative, announced the launch of the initiative logo, and it is officially announced .
Dr. Osama Nasher, Deputy Initiative Officer and Head of Foreign Affairs, said in a video that the “I am a Doctor I Can” initiative is a non-governmental medical initiative founded on 10/5-2020, with an idea founded by Dr. Walid Muhammad Al-Bakili, a consultant and researcher in family and child medicine who is one of the Aden's sons work in the Apollo Hospitals Group - India.
Then it was established on the ground, by the grace of Allah and the virtue of these medical elites at home and abroad.

The idea of launching the initiative came after the outbreak of the Corona pandemic in Yemen and in the city of Aden in particular and the collapse of the health sector in it, as the number of citizens who contacted us sought medical advice and advice increased in the absence of medical services in Aden, the scarcity of beds, the acute shortage in intensive care rooms and ventilators.

A free, popular, medical initiative that is purely for the service of our people in Aden and all of Yemen. It includes about 150 doctors of various specializations and degrees from inside and outside Yemen working around the clock to provide medical consultations electronically, as is the case in most countries of the world in light of the Corona pandemic that is treated within the limits of 80% of patients are in their homes electronically, avoiding contacting with people and spreading the pandemic.
The initiative provided medical consultations and health advice and an explanation of the methods of prevention and the importance of hygiene, sterilization, isolation and home quarantine, as the number of consultations reached about 1300 consultations, answered accurately and documented and closely followed by our team in the first days of the outbreak of the pandemic in its first week, which were dealt with sooner and directly by our medical advisory team and we are still following it until now.
15% were consulting on other diets such as malaria, dengue and chikungunya. The consultations also included questions about corona disease, methods of prevention and other general questions.
85% of the consultations were for suspected cases of COVD-19 corona. The majority were distributed between 90% to mild to moderate, 8% to critical and critical, and deaths accounted for 2%.
Our team works hard according to a specific vision and a clear goal, which is to help our people in Aden to reduce the spread of virus infection and reduce infection rates and treatment of light and medium suspected cases, and to help serious and critical cases to reach hospitals and quarries designated for their treatment.
