Taiz ... Corona reveals the dispute between the local and de facto authorities

 The decisions and recommendations of the Emergency Committee to confront the Coronavirus revealed the existing dispute and the conflict of powers between the local authorities and the de facto authority of the Brotherhood in Taiz Governorate.

Where the emergency committee renewed, in an extraordinary meeting chaired by the governorate's deputy for health affairs, Ilan Abdulhaq, the issuance of decisions and recommendations for the fifth time to prevent the outbreak of the Corona epidemic in the city of Taiz.

 The emergency committee to confront Corona decided, at its meeting, on Friday, partial lockdown, which its timing was not specified, close the affected areas, and implement foggy and sterilization campaigns in the city of Taiz.

 The emergency committee also decided again to close the qat markets and prevent the transfer of qat into the city for three days, close restaurants and buffets, allow takeaway meals, in addition to closing mosques and punishing violators.

An official source said to (Newsyemen), the Brotherhood's de facto authority continues to reject the decisions and recommendations of the Emergency Committee to Combat the Corona Virus, and they demand the head of the conservative committee, Nabil Shamsan, to allocate a budget to implement the decisions of the committee.

 According to the source, the Brotherhood’s authority has refused to close mosques since the beginning of Ramadan, and their armed militias and security forces are protecting the qat markets in exchange for money from the owners of those markets.

Official medical statistics indicate that the number of people infected with the Coronavirus in Taiz and the countryside in the south of the governorate reached 40 cases, and 10 deaths, while the actual number exceeded the announced numbers due to the return of citizens from infected cities such as Sanaa and Aden.
