Aden, Newsyemen:

Health Minister Nasser Ba’oom said on Monday that the Houthi militia’s coup against state institutions led to the destruction and damage of about 60% of health facilities, which left it unable to cope with the spread of many deadly epidemics, mainly the Coronavirus.

In a press statement, Ba’oom called on all donor organizations and countries to support Yemen and start supporting the health sector, as part of the urgent humanitarian response plan, to raise the sector's ability and enable it to face the existing challenges, noting that Saudi Arabia is sponsoring the "Donors Conference for Yemen 2020" in partnership with the United Nations  .

He stressed the importance of this conference in mobilizing funding for humanitarian projects and programs in Yemen, calling for the provision of field hospitals and training of medical cadres in the face of pandemic and febrile illnesses and the provision of PCR examination devices and solutions, ventilators and protective clothing in sufficient quantities commensurate with the size of challenges, within the emergency response plan

The Minister of Health expressed the government's appreciation for the efforts of Saudi Arabia and its support for the Yemeni people in all fields, as it is the largest supporter of Yemen.

The conference seeks to raise about $ 2.4 billion to provide the largest relief operation in the world.
