The Inter-Agency Standing Committee - which includes United Nations and other non-international organizations - said that local health workers and international agencies are making efforts to tackle the Corona pandemic in Yemen, but the health system is worn out more under the additional pressure of the pandemic.

The infected toll in the lands under the control of the legitimate government has risen to 482 cases, with deaths stabilizing at 111 cases, and recovery cases remaining at 23 cases.

The new Coronavirus is spreading rapidly across the countries with the world's largest humanitarian crisis, driven by six years of war.

Half of the health facilities are only fully functional, and many operating health centers lack basic equipment such as masks, gloves, as well as oxygen and other essential supplies to treat the Covid-19 pandemic.

The war, which lasted for more than five years, destroyed the health infrastructure in Yemen, exposed Yemenis to frequent outbreaks of disease and malnutrition, and greatly increased vulnerabilities.

Civilians are still bearing the brunt of the conflict, with nearly 100,000 Yemenis having to flee their homes since the start of the year due to the escalation of violence.

The United Nations has announced that Yemen needs $ 179 million and $ 100,000 to prepare and respond to the emerging Corona Virus Covid-19, in order to supply and supply a series of medical supplies and maintain a health system.

According to the website tracking funding for the Corona Virus Response Plan, the United Nations has received, until June 8, 40 million and 200 thousand dollars, 22% of the total requirements of the plan.
