The Republican Security Committee recommended that the Houthi militia designate a terrorist group in connection with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

This came in recommendations proposed by the committee to protect the United States, and devoted a large part of its report in this regard to countering Iranian threats.

The commission elaborated its vision and recommendations on supporting US allies and countering Iran's threats.

And considered that the approach taken by President Donald Trump to the file of Iran as Tehran is a rogue and hostile country that gives "real results", recommending to work to re-impose UN sanctions on Tehran, because of its violation of the nuclear agreement.

The Republican Committee stressed that Iraqi militias loyal to Iran should be classified as "terrorist organizations" as well.

It also called for new sanctions against the Lebanese Hezbollah militia, including its ministers or deputies.

In this context, the committee recommended imposing sanctions on the former foreign minister, the president of the "Free Patriotic Movement", Gibran Bassil, the speaker of the House of Representatives, the head of the Amal Movement, Nabih Berri, and the current Lebanese health minister, Hamad Hassan.

The call included sanctions against people close to Hezbollah, including former Director General of Public Security, Deputy Jamil al-Sayid.
