Mocha, Newsyemen:

Colonel Qaid Effendi, who managed to escape the grip of the Houthi militia and reached the west coast, revealed that he was imprisoned twice: The first lasted for two months in Taiz. The second was four months after his release, and lasted till a few days ago.

Colonel Effendi said: “On 7/30/2017, I was placed in Al-Saleh prison in Taiz for two months, and then they released me with a guarantee that I would be (Saleh). This means that I would be with them and I remained out for four months.”

He added: "During this period, I was subjected to harassment and censorship, so I decided to move to the city of Ibb, and I stayed for only a short time, then (the Houthis) surrounded my house, arrested my children, and looted my cars and all my possessions and personal belongings and weapons ... violated the sanctity of my house by force and confiscated all my documents."

Colonel Effendi continued: “Then I moved to Sanaa and the Houthi militia was following me, and from Sanaa I traveled to Hodeidah trying to return to my home via the Saqam Al-Mahjar road, but I was arrested there ... so they kept me in the Political Security prison in Hodeidah for a month and then transferred me to Sanaa in a prison located in approximately Shamlan or Shamila, blindfolded, and then transferred me to the Political Security prison until 16/6/2020.

He explained that the Houthi militias charged him with communicating with leaders in the legitimacy, including Hamdi Shukri, Ra’ed Al-Yafi, and others, and that they showed him phone numbers that they claimed that he was in contact with and he knew nothing about them.

Colonel Effendi continues to explain his tragedy in the militia detention center by saying: "I was tortured and severely beaten and they were hanging me in the ceiling of the room, causing a fracture in my hand and another fracture in the bone of my face when they were beating me with boots, as they were taking me out of prison with closed eyes to an area I don't know where it was, and I was being tortured by the militia during their interrogation of me, which continues from sunset to the dawn call to prayer, then after that they send me back to prison and I am exhausted from the severity of the torture. "

He added, "Torture continued in Al Hodeidah for a month and in Sanaa, for a year and a half, including torture and investigation."

He revealed that, during two full years, he was deprived of all his rights, including his right to treatment despite his illness, and he was not allowed to communicate with anyone.

He indicated that he and the rest of the prisoners were being insulted and verbally abused, and that if one of them fell ill or suffocated, and asked the prison guard for help, they would respond to them by saying, "It doesn’t matter let him die."

He explained that the Houthi militias fabricate the charges for anyone who is arrested and that they hold detainees accountable even for the numbers on their phones, even if the person’s number is his son or brother.

On his meeting with the called Abu Ali al-Hakim, the official of military intelligence for the Houthi militia, Colonel Effendi said: “After I was released, they returned me to prison for two days and on the third day, the militia members transferred me and brought me to the called Abu Ali, the governor in an area that I was told was in al-Jawf and who gave a lecture to us, and after he finished , he turned to me and said, "We will release you, give you what you want, promote you to the dean, return your cars to you, increase your spending, and fix your situation."

He added: "At the time, I agreed to what Abu Ali Al-Hakim, asked me to assure them to release me, and then they returned me to Sana'a, and when I found that the spying on me had diminished, where I was due to make a media statement on Saturday in their channels ... except that I was able to ignore them and when I had the opportunity to escape from them using sub roads until I got to Mocha. "

Sheikh Effendi affirmed that the homeland is precious to all and cannot be neglected for the sake of a personal interest.

He said: Despite all the temptations that the Houthi militia tried to present to me, we have chosen to favor the homeland, its pride and dignity, and the great people who yearn for freedom from this racist criminal militia.
