Al-Mukalla, Newsyemen, Abdullah Al-Shadly:

"Newsyemen" conducted a field tour to get acquainted with power plants in Al-Rayyan, east of Mukalla, on the coast of Hadhramaut Governorate.

The "Newsyemen" correspondent got acquainted with the nature of the work of the generation stations in the coast of Hadhramaut governorate, which works to keep the current running despite the shallow capabilities provided to them by the local authority in the governorate without direct interference from the government to end the nightmare of the frequent shutdown of the power.

Eng. Ahmed Al-Yamini, Director of Al-Rayyan Station, stated in a special statement to Newsyemen that the stations consume large quantities of fuel oil up to about 220 thousand liters per day, divided into five generators.

Al-Yamini added that the generation stations consume about 28 barrels of oil for every 3,500 hours, indicating that the process of changing the oil will be according to the number of operating hours and the quality of the materials.

For his part, Eng. Saleh Al Kathiri, technical director of power stations, told Newsyemen, that the total energy produced in the Hadhramaut coast reaches only 140 mph in peak times in the summer.

Al Kathiri pointed out that the coast of Hadhramaut needs at least 220 miles, to fill the deficit in energy production in the governorate and meet its needs well.

The power plants in the Hadhramaut coast suffer from erosion, poor service and a decline in performance due to the declining efficiency of the stations and their approach to reaching their life expectancy.
