The Saudi-led coalition said on Monday that it intercepted and destroyed four ballistic missiles and seven drones loaded with explosives launched by the Houthi movement in Yemen towards the kingdom
Earlier in July, Saudi state television reported that the coalition had launched a military operation against the allied movement with Iran after rocket and aircraft attacks on Saudi Arabia intensified.
The coalition did not announce any casualties.
"The Houthis are deliberately escalating the hostilities to target civilians and civilian objects inside Yemen and the neighboring countries of Yemen, using ballistic missiles and drones," the coalition spokesman said.
Turki al-Maliki stressed "the efficiency of the coalition's joint forces in countering these threats and thwarting them by monitoring them from within the Houthi-controlled areas, destroying and addressing them."
