A child was injured by shrapnel of a mortar shell, on Sunday, after the Houthi militia launched a heavy artillery bombardment towards residential neighborhoods in the city of Hays, south of Hodeidah.
A Newsyemen reporter in Hays reported that the Houthi militia shelled 120 mortar rounds of residential neighborhoods in the quarter of Hadrami, in the center of the city.
He added, that the shrapnel fell on the houses, which led to the injury of 8-year-old Ahmed Ali Othman Al-Hindi with mortar fragments that penetrated the left side of the abdomen, and he was transferred to the medical point of the 11th Giants Brigade to receive treatment.
In the context, a military source confirmed to Newsyemen that the Houthi militias opened various machine-gun fire towards the homes of civilians living on the outskirts of the city center, and launched a bombardment of two axes, starting from the south and from the east, from the areas of their control stationed in the villages of rural Hays.
The Houthi bombardment caused a state of panic among the people, as a result of the Houthi targeting of their homes.
