Abyan, Newsyemen:

Thousands went out, on Monday, in a mass rally, at the Directorate of Modia in Abyan (southern Yemen), in support of the transitional council, and condemning the practices of the Brotherhood's militia in the province.

Participants roamed the city streets, chanting slogans in support of the transitional council, and holding slogans calling for the imposition of self-administration in Abyan.

The demonstrators denounced the practices of the militia of the Islah Party, the local branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, for violating the ceasefire agreement on the Abyan fronts and for its insistence on continuing the aggression against the province.

The march culminated in a huge mass festival, during which a number of speeches were made, affirming the support of the self-administration of the south, the support of the transitional negotiating team in Riyadh, standing with the southern forces in the Abyan axis, and calling for exposing the rampant corruption in the provincial authority departments and its executive offices.

On Sunday, the Lauder District of Abyan witnessed a mass rally in support of the transition and self-administration, and demanding the removal of the Brotherhood's militia from the governorate.
