Aden, Newsyemen :

A demonstration in favor of the interim president, Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, ended on Monday in Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen, with fierce fighting over the financial allocations for the participants.

Hundreds of people went out in a demonstration in the city of Lauder on Monday in support of the interim president, and held banners in support of legitimacy, while chanting slogans against the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia, the most prominent of which "Coalition no more."

The demonstration came in response to an invitation made by the so-called "Southern National Coalition", which is a booby-trapped entity by businessman Ahmed Saleh Al-Essi, deputy director of President Hadi's office, and the latter's son (Jalal Hadi).

Broadly circulated video clips show Hadi supporters chanting during the demonstration, "Coalition no more."

Another video documented a fight and a sharp stampede among the participants over the financial allocations paid in exchange for leaving the demonstration.

Local sources said that Al-Essi and Jalal spent millions of riyals to mobilize the demonstrators, and paid large sums to some of the personalities, amounting to half a million Yemeni riyals.

In a closing statement, the participants called on the Sharia government to "assume its responsibility to provide services and secure monthly salaries on a regular basis, which enhances the effectiveness and performance of the administrative and military apparatus of the state."
