A number of members of the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, were killed when a network of mines that the militia had planted without maps exploded in the contact lines in the Hays district, south of Hodeidah, to impede the advance of the joint forces.

Military sources said that on Friday, the Houthi militia carried out an attempt to infiltrate the contact lines with the joint forces in Hays, but it fell into the traps of a mine network that it had planted earlier.

It explained that the mine network exploded with the Houthi militia, killing a number of them and wounding others.

In a related matter, the engineering teams of the joint forces continued to dismantle mines and explosives that were swept away by the torrential rains south of Hodeidah.

An engineering team from the Thirteenth Giants Brigade dismantled dozens of mines and IEDs that were planted by the Houthi militia in the Hays district, and were swept away by torrents in recent days.
