Durahimi, Newsyemen, Ahmed Dawood:

On Monday, the directors of the Executive Unit and the Human Rights Office in the Al-Durahimi district launched an urgent appeal to local and international organizations to help those affected by the floods in the district.

The director of the executive unit, Khaled Bajali, said, during a visit to the areas most affected by the flood disaster, in al-Jaribah, al-Qadhia and Wadi al-Aqum, that hundreds of families are left in the open without shelter.

He added that many families were swept away by the torrential waters of their homes with their contents, and they are in urgent need of relief and shelter materials.

For his part, the Director of the Human Rights Office, Ahmed Balaous, said, "We call on all humanitarian organizations to go to support the affected people."

Balaous called on the governor of Hodeidah, Dr. Hassan Taher, to look into the situation of the "afflicted" and to pay attention to them.

Al-Hodeidah Governorate and other governorates were hit by an unprecedented disaster as a result of the torrents, as hundreds of homes were destroyed, camps for the displaced were swept away, and thousands became homeless.
