Mocha, Newsyemen, Exclusive:

The Secretary-General of the Local Council of Mocha, Al-Ansi District, Qassem Zaid Al-Habbas, denied, on Tuesday, the validity of the allegations that talked about the expiration of the foodstuffs distributed by the World Food Program for the month of July 2020.

During his inauguration of distributing food aid to about 8,585 families in Mocha, Al-Ansi said that the validity of foodstuffs has not expired, as promoted by some WhatsApp groups.

For his part, Othman Tahoush, head of the Social Affairs Committee of the Local Council, said that the distribution of foodstuffs represents a brightening of hope for poor families in the Mokha district.

He added, during his participation in the inauguration of the distribution of foodstuffs, that the food program represents a support and aid to thousands of families who found themselves facing hunger, in light of the atmosphere of war created by the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen.

In addition, the head of the Environmental Health Department, Nabil Ali Saeed, said that he inspected the foodstuffs and found them suitable for consumption.

He added that the quantity of stored flour clarifies that it is produced in July 2020 and is valid for the next nine months.

He stressed that he did not find any indications of the presence of damaged or expired materials, which confirms the falsehood of the allegations made about that.

The food aid, which was provided in the form of complete baskets at four distribution centers, contained a bag and a half of flour, two five-liter packages of oil, and a quantity of beans, sugar and table salt.

The food program targets the poorest and the displaced in the various regions of the district.
