Aden, Newsyemen:

Salem Thabet Al-Awlaqi, a member of the Presidency in the Southern Transitional Council, said that the continued shooting at the southern forces' positions in the Shuqra front reveals an agenda that works to abort the mechanism to accelerate the Riyadh Agreement as an opportunity for peace.

Al-Awlaqi's statements came as a comment on the recent military escalation by the Islah militia, the local branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, in Abyan Governorate, in southern Yemen, despite the ceasefire agreement sponsored by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Al-Awlaqi said, in a tweet on his Twitter account: "We have been and are still working with our brothers in Saudi Arabia to implement the Riyadh Agreement, because we see it as a necessity to consolidate the foundations of stability in the south and create conditions for launching the development and reconstruction movement."

He added: "The continued shooting at the southern forces' positions in the Shuqra front reveals an agenda that works to abort the mechanism to accelerate the Riyadh Agreement as an opportunity for peace."
