Sanaa, Newsyemen, Exclusive:

Local sources said that the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, is still refusing to date to allow cafes in the capital, Sana'a, to open their doors to customers, despite their permission for restaurants, parks and shops to return to their work after they were closed as a precaution as part of measures to confront the outbreak of the Corona epidemic.

The sources added : The owners of the cafés have submitted repeated requests to the leaders of the Houthi militia and officials of the local authority in the capital, Sana'a, regarding permission to return to work, similar to the restaurants and parks that have been reopened to citizens since last month, noting that their requests were rejected and that some leaders of the Houthi militia responded. Their requests to say that the cafes and the vice they witness is one of the reasons for the delay in victory in the battle with the Arab coalition, and that it is impossible to allow them to return to work because closing them is a religious commitment and falls within the order of good and forbidding evil, and the words of the leaders of the Houthi militia.

Public and personal freedoms in the capital, Sanaa, and the Houthi militia-controlled areas are witnessing ongoing violations, most notably the prohibitions against gatherings and meetings and raids of places and shops where people meet, especially cafes.

The Houthi militia allowed the lifting of the precautionary measures that it took in the face of the outbreak of the Corona epidemic in the capital, Sanaa and its areas of control, including the reopening of restaurants to citizens, as well as the opening of gardens and parks to visitors and allowing the shops to return to their activities, and the almost complete abandonment of all precautionary measures such as the use of sterilization and wearing masks and gloves which had been obligatory for stores, malls and restaurants.

It is worth noting that the Houthi militia launched repeated raids on cafes in the capital, Sanaa, and closed a number of them more than once under the pretext of fighting vice, and using these justifications for financial blackmail, which was met with widespread criticism campaigns from activists and the media, which led to the decline of the militias And allowing cafes to return to work, but the militias took advantage of the spread of the Corona epidemic to close the cafes as part of the precautionary measures and refused to reopen them again on the pretext that this comes within the fight against vice.
