Hodeidah, Newsyemen:

The head of the prisoners' file in the southern resistance and the western coast criticized, on Wednesday, the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, for the denial of the implementation of the prisoner exchange agreement signed in the Jordanian capital Amman last February, and the UN envoy to Yemen demanded an explanation about the fate of the agreement.

In a message addressed to the UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths, Yasser Al-Hadi said that the prisoners' agreement, which has been signed for nearly six months, has long been implemented in light of the tragic conditions suffered by the prisoners in the prisons of the Houthi militia.

He added in the memo that the implementation of the agreement would have led to a new round of negotiations with the Houthi militia on other files, but the failure to implement it prevented that.

Al-Hadi called on the UN envoy to reveal the party obstructing the implementation of the agreement, referring to the Houthi militia, which has refused its implementation for unknown reasons.

The Yemeni government signed an agreement with the Houthi militia to exchange prisoners in the Jordanian capital Amman at the end of last February under the auspices of the United Nations, but the Iranian arm refused to implement the agreement hours after signing it.
