Aden, Newsyemen:

The United Nations said that the torrential rains and floods during the past days have caused the repeated displacement of more than 25 thousand people in Yemen in different governorates of the country.

Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, said that the floods have led to frequent displacement of the population, as about twenty-nine thousand people have already been displaced in the affected areas.

The spokesman added, in a statement published on the organization's website, that at least 16 governorates, out of all 22 Yemeni governorates, have been affected by heavy rains throughout the current year, including the continuous floods since March.

In the context, a spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary said, that limited funding from donors is forcing essential programs to close or reduce support across various sectors, including food, water, health and nutrition.

He explained that the humanitarian response plan for Yemen was only twenty-one percent funded and urged donors to pay all suspended pledges immediately and to consider increasing their support.
