Hodeidah, Newsyemen, Exclusive:

A local source stated that a number of fishermen in the areas under the control of the Houthi militia in Hodeidah decided to stop fishing in the liberated areas and return to their areas, due to the measures taken by the Houthi militia regarding preventing the circulation of the new currency.

The source added , that dozens of fishermen returned their boats to Hodeidah, Saleef and Khouba, suffering transport losses, high oil prices and militia harassment, because of their measures to prevent the circulation of the new currency and impose financial fines on violators, which made it difficult to dispose of the financial revenues they gained while working in the liberated areas.

He explained that fishermen went before Eid al-Adha to work in the liberated areas, and the financial returns were good, but when they returned to their areas, they were confused about the matter of disposing them.

He pointed out that the new editions were not accepted by any of them or are equivalent to the old financial editions with a decrease of 25 percent.

He stressed that these measures deprived fishermen of their livelihoods, forcing them to return to work in non-liberated areas, suffering from the high cost of fuel and the Houthi repressive measures yeah Fishermen in the areas controlled by the Iranian arm in Hodeidah suffer from financial levies to finance its religious ceremonies, its futile war, and high fuel prices.
