Hodeidah, Newsyemen:

The Emirates Red Crescent continues to run convoys of food and shelter aid in the coast by directing a new aid convoy to the Al-Durahimi district in Hodeidah governorate.

The relief teams of the Crescent in the coast targeted 550 poor families with 25 tons of necessary aid, including the residents of Al-Harisa villages, Beit Al-Bar, Al-Bouark, and Al-Muathalah, in Al-Juraiba, Al-Durahimi district.

These villages are located on the line of contact, which is subjected to frequent daily sniping by the Houthi militia.

The aid included about 3,700 people living in poverty and the urgent need for food after the coup militia destroyed the sources of income they obtained from their farms, which they planted with mines and fishing beaches, which became booby-trapped with floating mines, and their areas were affected by the floods that swept through their villages a few days ago.

The Crescent relief teams distributed 15 tents to the families whose straw sticks were swept away by the torrents.

The distribution process was attended by Abdulrahman Al-Yousfi, Director of the Relief Department at the Crescent Office in the coast, Fouad Makki, Director General of Al-Duraihimi Directorate, and members of the local authority in the district.

This support comes as a continuation of the humanitarian campaign that the UAE Red Crescent started about twenty days ago to provide relief to citizens in rural and remote areas, and as a continuation of the flow of relief and shelter aid to the affected families in the liberated directorate.

It is noteworthy that the Crescent Authority conducted, in the past, a convoy of humanitarian and relief aid to the IDP camps in Al-Waara, Al-Alili, Al-Juhayer and Al-Hawash in Al-Khokha district and the IDP camp in the village of Ghalifaqa and Al-Duraimi, with food aid estimated at 150 tons.
