Al-Hodeidah, Newsyemen :

The Emirates Red Crescent provided relief aid to the villages of Al-Jaliba and Al-Nakhil, in the far end of Al-Tuhaita District, south of Hodeidah.

Emirates Crescent distributed 15 tons of food aid to 250 poor families who support 2,000 people suffering from poverty, deprivation and declining income sources.

This support comes as a continuation of the humanitarian campaign carried out by the Emirates Red Crescent to relief citizens in rural, remote and needy areas on the western coast.

The Director General of Al-Tuhaita Directorate, Hassan Hanbeeq, who attended the distribution, said that the Emirates Crescent came to restore hope to the residents of these remote and deprived areas that no one else had reached.

He added that the Crescent is working to alleviate the suffering of the people of these villages who are suffering from scarcity of economic resources and their inability to cope with the burdens of life and livelihoods.

Earlier, the UAE Red Crescent conducted a convoy of humanitarian and relief aid to the camps for the displaced in Al-Waara, Al-Alili, Al-Juhayer and Al-Hawash in Al-Khawkha district, and the IDP camp in the villages of Ghalifaqa, Al-Durahimi, Al-Jaraba, and Al-Hali, with a total aid estimated at 5300 thousand baskets within twenty days, equivalent to 193 tons of necessary food aid.
