The Speaker of Parliament, Sheikh Sultan Al-Barakani, stressed, on Saturday, support for Saudi Arabia's efforts to complete the stages of implementing the Riyadh Agreement and contribute to the normalization of all situations.

This came during his meeting with the Chinese ambassador to Yemen, Kang Yong, at his residence in Riyadh.

Al-Barakani considered that the arrival of the governor of Aden, Ahmed Hamed, to the city, constitutes an encouraging start for the implementation of what was mentioned in the agreement and its success.

The meeting discussed steps related to implementing the Riyadh Agreement, forming the new government, and implementing the military and security component, according to the official Yemeni News Agency.

The Speaker of Parliament accused the Houthis of continuing to practice blackmailing the region, the United Nations and the international community with regard to the maintenance of the Safer oil tanker, which poses a serious threat to Yemen and the countries bordering the Red Sea, and this constitutes an economic, humanitarian and environmental disaster.

He pointed out the Houthi attacks in Marib, Al-Bayda and other regions, and his failure to adhere to the understandings that were made and the efforts made to bring peace, such as the Stockholm Agreement or the mechanisms recently reached.

He explained that the international community ignores all these issues, which encourages the Houthi militia.

He added "The international community has not moved a finger about the genocide and killing that the Houthis have been practicing in Marib for several months, and their lack of respect for international decisions and references, which constitutes a great embarrassment to legitimacy and pressure regarding the continuation of work with the Stockholm Agreement."

Al-Barakani pointed out that international efforts to bring peace to Yemen are of utmost importance, noting that China will work with its international partners to stop the bloodshed, reach an urgent ceasefire and address the issue of the SAFER oil tanker.
