Most of the shops were closed, on Tuesday, in the districts of Damt and Jubun, which are under the control of the Houthi militia in the Al-Dhalea governorate, in a situation warning of a hungry revolution and widespread protests following the collapse of the Yemeni riyal.

Local sources told "NewsYemen" that the shops strike came in response to the unjust Houthi decision to prevent the circulation of the new currency in the directorates near the liberated areas that conduct most of their dealings in the new printed currency.

The sources pointed out that a number of merchants who own exhibitions and shops in the qat market closed their doors to citizens, expressing their anger and resentment over the decisions of the Houthi militia.

The Houthi militia circulated decisions and instructions stressing the prevention of the new currency in Damt and Jubun, which exposes many shops to bankruptcy.

The closure of shops has caused almost complete paralysis in front of the movement of citizens, cars, and the lack of services, which heralds an upcoming revolution for the hungry and the owners of commercial interests in the districts of Damt and Jubun.
