A meeting of the Hadhramaut valley cashier, held on Monday evening, in the city of Seiyun, Hadhramaut governorate, approved the suspension of banking work this morning, Tuesday morning, by closing all exchange shops in the Hadhramaut Valley and stopping all banking transactions.

The suspension decision came after crews from the First Military Region raided all exchange shops and closed them by force without any written orders.

The meeting noted the dangers of these steps on the economic side and banking security that pave the way for armed robbery of commercial establishments in all its forms, as happened in some other regions.

The meeting agreed to inform the local authority of Hadhramout valley about this and meet it to develop appropriate solutions and remedies, and direct the military units not to leave except with orders from the local authority and the Central Bank of Yemen away from randomness because of its great security risks.

Crews from the army backed by soldiers from the General Security raided the money exchange shops in Seiyun on Monday afternoon, forcing them to close and expelling all their employees by force of arms, without any authoritarian, security, or even central bank decisions.
