Ibb, NewsYemen:

Confirmed sources reported that inmates of the central prison in Ibb governorate objected to arbitrary decisions taken by the prison administration.

The sources stated that the last of these decisions was to issue a circular to withdraw smart phones within 3 days and replace them with regular ones, as well as cut off the Internet, which prompted inmates to threaten to burn furniture.

Sources from inside the prison confirmed, after making a distress call, that soldiers affiliated with the militia beat inmates with batons and fired tear gas.

The inmates of the Central Prison had previously demanded the change of the reformatory director, who accused them of spreading the abuses that occur inside the prison on social media and that they were attacking him.

For its part, informed sources indicated that the inmates' suffering will not end, as long as those in charge of the prison administration are a group that they called thieves and bad guys.

Sources added that there is a tendency to blackmail prisoners by establishing investment communication booths for the benefit of influential people working inside the prison.

The sources indicated that there is fear on the part of the central inmates, as some had previously been imprisoned for several months without turning to them or having their cases decided by the court.

Ibb is one of the governorates that has been in the forefront of the scene since the beginning of the year 2020 in cases, killings and suicides.

Not to mention the violations that are increasing day by day by the Houthi militia, Iran's arm in Yemen, which is trying hard to tighten its grip and penetrate into all the details of this province.
