Aden, NewsYemen:

The Yemeni Bar Association has assigned a legal team to provide judicial support to the guardians of the blood of the victim, Abdullah Al-Aghbry, who was killed under torture by five people in the capital, Sanaa, which is under the control of the Houthi militia.

The legal team will plead and litigate on behalf of the victim’s blood relatives, attend investigations into the case, and represent the Bar Association before the official and judicial authorities of various degrees.

The team includes 11 lawyers, headed by Saqr Abdulaziz Al-Samawi, according to the assignment decision document issued by the head of the Yemeni Bar Association, Abdullah Muhammad Rajeh.

The case of the killing of Al-Aghbry sparked outrage, as hundreds of Yemenis protested to demand the implementation of retribution against the killers, confirming their refusal to mediate some tribal leaders, from which some of those accused of killing and torturing the young Aghbry descended.

The details of the case date back to the end of last August, when the young Abdullah Qaid Al-Aghbry, from the Haifan district of Taiz governorate, was killed by five people, including the owner of the shop in which he was working, after being brutally tortured for 6 hours.

The perpetrators cut the victim's vein, and took him to a private hospital, to show what happened as a suicide attempt, but the shop's internal surveillance camera documented the details of the crime.
