Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi appointed Ahmed Hamed Lamlas as the new governor of Aden Governorate, the country's temporary capital, to succeed his predecessor Ahmed Salem Rabee Ali.

The Selection of Lamlas to fill the position of Governor of Aden, as a representative of the Southern Transitional Council, as the council was appointed to nominate a figure to occupy this position, according to the Riyadh Agreement sponsored by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, between the Yemeni government on the one hand, and the Southern Transitional Council on the other hand.

The governor has extensive experience in administration and politics from the local council of Aden and the governor of Shabwa to the general secretary of the transitional council.

Ahmed Lamlas was born in 1970 in Ataq, the capital of Shabwa governorate in the southeast of the country, but he grew up and studied in the city of Aden.

Lamlas received a southerly welcome by appointing him as the governor of Aden governorate, and upon his arrival at Aden airport, Lamlas’s statements received broad southern support from Adani, who said: “We will control things, because Aden deserves a lot.”

Lamlas stressed the need to restore the civil and civilized face of the capital, Aden, stressing that this would serve trade and investment and create an attractive commercial environment for commercial companies, businessmen and investors.

He stressed the need to activate the performance of health facilities, improve their services provided to citizens, activate the monitoring aspect of health facilities, and organize continuous inspection campaigns to arrest those who violate laws and regulations.

The people of Aden praised the achievement of the governor of Aden, as the governor of Aden called on teachers and educators to start their work in schools and start the new school year, and the teachers responded to this call and the governor's trams to suspend the strike.

He was welcomed by the southern street and he did not stop his field visits for a day since his return, and he did not take any decision to exclude the political and stressed the service of everyone, and promised to restore the civil and civilized face of the capital with the support of the Arab coalition.
