Marib, NewsYemen:

The Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons Camps in Marib Governorate said that about 5,000 families have been displaced from the governorate in less than a month.

This comes in conjunction with the escalation of hostilities in the governorate and the control of the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, over the districts of Mahlia and Rahba, reaching the outskirts of the Jouba district, south of Marib, in addition to its control over the districts of Medghal and Majzar, north of Marib, and areas in Al-Khaddara and Serwah in the west.

The Executive Unit for Displaced Persons Camps said that the new displacement process was monitored during the period from twenty last August until mid-September.

The government unit stated that this displacement came as a result of the escalation of the conflict due to the Houthi attack on the borders of the governorate from the northern and southern sides.

A statistic of the Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights revealed the displacement of more than 11,000 families during the past two months alone, indicating that the number of displaced people in Yemen has reached more than 4 million people since the beginning of the war that the Houthis started.
