A conference leader survived and his driver was killed in an assassination attempt in Taiz

The leader of the General People's Congress (GPC) party and the leader of the Resistance of Al-Hima survived an assassination attempt by unknown armed men, this afternoon, Sunday, in the city of Taiz, central Yemen.
Local sources told (NewsYemen), that unknown gunmen on motorcycles intercepted the car of the conference leader Sheikh Saeed Al-Harbi, and fired their rifles at the car, this afternoon, Sunday, in the Sina area, in the center of Taiz.
Immediately after the attempt, clashes with light weapons broke out between Al-Harbi escorts and the gunmen who tried to assassinate him near the oil station in Sina.
The assassination attempt resulted in the death of the driver, Ayman Abdo Qaid, and the injury of Saeed Al-Harbi and other companions, some of whom were seriously wounded, and were subsequently transferred to the hospital for treatment.
