On the sidelines of the multiple official celebrations of the 58th National Day of the 26th of September 1962 revolution, social networking sites and social media pages were buzzing with the Yemeni event that changed the face of history and represented the moment of birth of a nation.

Historical videos, fragrant patriotic songs, rare photos of a number of leaders and symbols of the revolution and its soldiers, various September frames for the personal photos of social media activists (Facebook - Twitter - Instagram - YouTube), and the leading September hashtags.

A social and popular race to celebrate the occasion of September 26 on social networks, in an unprecedented manner, in what is considered a remarkable phenomenon that has expanded from year to year for nearly 10 years.


Activists on social networks published hundreds of poetry clips of sung poems, patriotic songs for this occasion, and excerpts from the biographies of a number of the martyrs of the September 26 revolution, and they expressed their high appreciation to the heroes, poets and artists of the September 26, 1962 revolution.

The video of the song (Arwahana Dema’una) by graduates of the Faculty of Languages, Sana'a University, was widely circulated on the pages of Social Media.

Yemeni journalist and writer Sami Ghaleb believes that the revolution of September 26, 1962, although it faced several plots and setbacks, but it "has meaning, value and promise, that, with succession of years, it is entrenched as the" Yemeni national "revolution against slavery with its ugliest faces.

He said: It is also necessary to read this historic (popular not official) celebration of the anniversary of the September Revolution, and this flood of appreciation for its heroes, poets and artists, in the new media, especially on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.


Sami Ghaleb wrote on his Facebook page, "We remember with pride and reverence the martyr Ali Abdulmoghani and his righteous companions, and do not forget the first Egyptian martyr in Yemen, the pride of the Egyptian military in the Suez War, Nabil Al-Waqqad, and after him the legend of the Egyptian thunderbolt, the martyr Abdulmoneim Sanad."
