The United Nations calls on the Yemeni parties to implement the prisoner release agreement immediately

On Sunday, the United Nations envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, called on the Yemeni parties to implement an immediate prisoner release agreement.
The government and Houthi delegations signed an agreement on Saturday to release 1081 prisoners from both sides, including 19 Saudi prisoners, as a first batch.
This exchange process is one of the largest exchanges and release of prisoners since the beginning of the war in Yemen in 2015.
Government sources stated that it was agreed to release 681 of the group’s prisoners in exchange for 400 government forces, including 15 Saudis and 4 Sudanese.
