Russia confirms its intention to restore peace to Yemen and threatens the Security Council to end the crisis

The Russian Federation said that it is determined to continue in every possible way to promote the long-awaited return of peace and stability to the Yemeni territories.


Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov added, in a phone call, on Tuesday, with his Yemeni counterpart, Muhammad al-Hadrami, that his country


  Contacts with all concerned parties will be used to achieve the desired goals in ending the crisis, including on the platform of the UN Security Council ... according to the Russian Foreign Ministry in a statement broadcast by Russia Today channel.


 According to the statement, Lavrov and Al-Hadrami stressed the need to stop the escalation in Yemen and solve the crisis by peaceful means.


The Russian Foreign Ministry stated, in the statement, that "Lavrov and Al-Hadrami discussed in detail the developments of the situation in Yemen, as the acute crisis has not stopped at all levels for 6 years until now."


 The statement pointed out that the two ministers "stressed the need to stop the escalation of the conflict between Yemenis and establish a comprehensive negotiation process aimed at providing a comprehensive and effective solution to the problems accumulated over the years of armed confrontation."


He added, "The two sides expressed support for the related efforts of the United Nations and its Secretary-General's envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths."
