Marib, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

A private source stated that Haitham Ahmed Zaid Al-Masawi, a worker in Al-Mashriqi Furniture since 2014, has been detained in Marib prisons since the year 2014.

Activist Ibrahim Asqin told Newsyemen that Al-Masawi, who is from the Ibb governorate, Al-Udain district, was arrested due to malicious reports and accusations, and for nearly 8 months he was banned from visiting and no information is known about him.

Asqin also confirmed that Al-Masawi was subjected to confiscation of his most basic rights, as his father died while he was in prison, and his aunt, who was like his mother, died without informing him about their death.

The source denounced the continued detention without any trial or proof of his involvement, pointing out that some people tried to release him, but the security authorities were intransigent and refused to respond.

He also appealed to all human rights organizations in the city of Marib to pursue the issue of equality, hoping that the officials there would reconsider many of the security behaviors and abuses that violate human rights.
