A human rights report documents 66,000 Houthi violations of Yemen's children

A human rights report documented nearly 66,000 cases of violations committed by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia against Yemeni children, including more than 7,000 deaths.

The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms - a coalition that includes a large number of civil society organizations - confirmed in its annual report, on Monday, that its team had documented, within five years, 65,971 cases of violations against children, by the Houthi group, which controls the capital Sanaa and a number of governorates since September 21 / September 2014.

The report stated that the violations documented by the network's team took place during the period from January 2015 until August 2019.

The report stated that the Houthi violations varied between killing, recruitment, kidnapping and arrest, and affected 17 governorates out of 22 Yemeni governorates.

The report stated that "more than 7 thousand and 120 children were killed, including 79 infants, as a result of indiscriminate shelling, sniping, planting landmines, sieges, and the lack of oxygen and medicine in hospitals ..."

The report also recorded 465 cases of arrest and kidnapping, distributed in 16 governorates, in addition to the displacement of 43,608 children.

The report pointed out that "12 thousand and 341 children under the age of 14 years were recruited by the Houthi group and forced to fight in its ranks."
