Sanaa, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Social media has reported widely the death of Dr. Abdulnour Al-Qulaisi, Assistant Professor of Interpretation Sciences, Faculty of Education, Zabid, Al-Hodeidah University.

The sources stated that Al-Qulaisi, who died earlier this week, visited the college in the morning and inspected his students, colleagues and employees.

The sources added that the man appeared tired and sick while moving around the college, and his last question before leaving college was about salary, and is there any hope for receiving it soon?

The deceased had tried hard to work in more than one place, including working as a baker in a restaurant to support his family, and with the worsening conditions in the country, it affected him greatly, as he died on the same day hours after returning from college after suffering a heart attack.

The living conditions of academics working in the areas under the control of the Houthi militia, Iran's arm in Yemen, have become very difficult and impossible.

There are dozens of almost daily appeals launched by many academics in the universities of Sana'a, Dhamar, Hajjah, Ibb, Hodeidah and Taiz, due to the catastrophic situation they reached without any reaction from the Houthis or the legitimate government.

On the other hand, an academic at Sanaa University, who refused to be named, in order not to be harassed, accused some of his colleagues of not caring, moving and pressuring to find solutions to the salary issue.

He said that there are people who are members of the faculty union who are being blackmailed, after they were caught through women's networks that the militia used for the same purpose.

He added, in his statement to "NewsYemen", that these academics are completely powerless even to defend their colleagues who are subjected to arrest, death and starvation, the last of which is the professor of psychology, Abdulhakim Al-Sharjabi, who was kidnapped half a month ago while he was on his way to supervise the exams.

He added that there is a clear and frank approach by the militia to fight national and scientific cadres, whether they work in universities or work in government departments.

According to his statement, this comes similar to what happened in the country of Iraq to many leaders of the Arab Socialist Baath Party and scholars, in a systematic and clear manner.

The source concluded his speech that the coming days will reveal major financial and moral corruption cases inside Sana'a University, as a result of racist appointments by the militia.

In addition, it is trying to change the curricula, and making many decisions that are compatible with its approach and project.

Dr. Abdullah Salah, a faculty member at Dhamar University, was one of those who provoked Qulaisi's death in this way, criticizing the failure of the legitimate government and the failure of the de facto authorities to university professors.

Al-Qulaisi was not the only one who died due to the current situation and the complete disruption of salaries, as many academics in the Faculty of Archeology and Commerce and others had preceded him during the last two years.

As it came to some that they were unable to meet the value of the medicines that were used because of their suffering from some chronic diseases such as heart, diabetes, blood pressure and other diseases.

Dr. Ashwaq Muharram is considered one of the medical cadres who decided to migrate finally after the increase in harassment by the Houthis as a result of her humanitarian and relief work in the regions of Tuhama and Hodeidah.
